A NUMBER of Hampshire’s Conservative MPs have joined a major revolt against Government policy on wind farms.
More than 100 Tories wrote to David Cameron calling for a drastic cut in subsidies to onshore turbines.
Signatories including Winchester’s Steve Brine, Romsey and Southampton North MP Caroline Nokes, Julian Lewis, (New Forest East), Caroline Dinenage (Gosport) and Isle of Wight MP Andrew Turner joined forces with politicians from other parties to express concerns over the amount of taxpayers’ money going to the sector. The letter will be a headache for new Energy Secretary Ed Davey, who has replaced Eastleigh MP Chris Huhne, who resigned to fight criminal charges relating to a speeding fine.
The letter said: “In these financially straitened times, we think it is unwise to make consumers pay, through taxpayer subsidy, for inefficient and intermittent energy production that typifies onshore wind turbines.”

Thankfully some local MP's are not fooled by the hype of these rubbish wind farms, they are ugly useless pieces of junk that could just about light a 40 watt bulb let alone power a city.
I personally object most stongly to having to subsidise these eyesores in my already overpriced energy bills.
I had hoped that these ideas would have died with that idiot Huhnes political career, but there are still people that actually believe in the now disproved and discredited theory of so called Global warming

No I am NOT gullible, because I do not believe in the Myth of so called global warming.
I am not gullible because I do not believe windmills can provide enogh energy.
I am not gullible because I dont believe politics are involved because apart from southampton there are only Consevative MPs in this area, they are just trying to save a little cash for their constituents against false green taxes

If you wish to continue with this line of debate come up with hard evidence to prove it, and i dont mean the political hype and the corrupt data from the UEA, please do not resort to name calling.
I have my opinion and you have yours if you wish to bring me to your way of thinking I need concrete proof, not just conjecture and speculation

Try reading the article in todays Daily Mail about the lack of glacier melting and stop believing in the hype and getting depressed and miserable and enjoy life.
If wind turbines are so wonderful how come the 2 at Millbrook roundabout have not worked once since installation and as a believer why are you not holding a protest to get them working if you really think they are the answer to all the worlds energy needs

Andrew Turner, in particular, should know better- having opposed an onshore wind farm in the middle of nowhere, the Island's main power generation facility is a large diesel generator. Scarcely efficient, certainly not carbon neutral, and most definitely not environmentally friendly.
