Tory wind farm revolt (From Daily Echo)

One wonders just what prompting these MPs got from Energy companies to write this letter, because I seriously doubt that they all simultaneously received bags of mail from their constituents.

Andrew Turner, in particular, should know better- having opposed an onshore wind farm in the middle of nowhere, the Island's main power generation facility is a large diesel generator. Scarcely efficient, certainly not carbon neutral, and most definitely not environmentally friendly.

Thankfully some local MP's are not fooled by the hype of these rubbish wind farms, they are ugly useless pieces of junk that could just about light a 40 watt bulb let alone power a city.
I personally object most stongly to having to subsidise these eyesores in my already overpriced energy bills.
I had hoped that these ideas would have died with that idiot Huhnes political career, but there are still people that actually believe in the now disproved and discredited theory of so called Global warming

Are you that gullible? Julian Lewis is worried about what could be erected on Dibden Bay.others are worried that people who can afford horses might be upset by the noise? when riding their horses.
Go to Germany,Holland,Fran
ce & Belgium they're there & no one moans about the views or the noise.
Go to one of the Scottish Islands where one Turbine produces all their electricity & pays for itself & contributes money for their council

I am not gullible because I do not believe windmills can provide enogh energy.
I am not gullible because I dont believe politics are involved because apart from southampton there are only Consevative MPs in this area, they are just trying to save a little cash for their constituents against false green taxes

wake up & look around you if you can't see the effects of global warming i suggest you are so set in your beliefs you can't see what's staring you in the face

No name calling but your post couldn't be far from the truth.
I definitely believe Labour did screw up this country.
I'm also Anti Liberal & I don't like Huhne.
I read ,I watch all programmes & literature I can about Global Warming on both sides of the argument.
What you can't deny is the sea levels are rising as they're warming. go to Australia & look at the bleaching of the coral,go to the artic & tell the Polar bears the Ice isn't retreating.
Some of this can be looked upon as a natural cycle some points straight at mans activity now if we can drive in electric cars powered by power reaped from the sun the tax man loses out & we save big time.
As more people buy Solar panels the price will come down like every thing else does ( TV's, Blue ray players etc)

Try reading the article in todays Daily Mail about the lack of glacier melting and stop believing in the hype and getting depressed and miserable and enjoy life.
If wind turbines are so wonderful how come the 2 at Millbrook roundabout have not worked once since installation and as a believer why are you not holding a protest to get them working if you really think they are the answer to all the worlds energy needs

So the need to preserve our water supplies & being forced to have a meter is nothing to do with a lack of rain?
