A HAMPSHIRE MP has been voted on to the executive of the 1922 committee of Conservative MPs.
Meon Valley MP George Hollingbery said he was “thrilled” to take his place on the 90-year-old committee, whose primary function is to keep the leadership of the party informed of the mood of backbenchers.
It meets each Wednesday to discuss upcoming parliamentary business and other topical issues.
Mr Hollingbery said: “I’m thrilled to be on the executive of such an important and historic committee and it’s especially pleasing that I was voted on to it by my fellow backbench MPs.”
