Some of us who have known Mike Hancock for many years would like to express our best wishes to him. Hope he will soon get better.

Obviously for some on this site this will provide another chance to crack jokes and have a go at Mike, that is their right, which may not be in good taste but should be tolerated.

That's rich coming from the most spiteful regular poster on this site. Sounds more like baiting to me.

Good luck Mr Hancock.

Did he get a little too excited at seeing another cute Russian girl to give a load of secrets too?

Mike Hancock IS the joke.

If, as you claim, you have known him for many years, I bet that if you are married and have a wife and daughter, you would not leave them alone with him.

Pity it wasn't the MP for Eastleigh.

My friend I do not pass judgements on other people’s personal lives. So I am bit disappointed in you.

In fairness to Mike it must be said that he did not ditch his Russian girl friend for political opportunism as many others would have done and all the mud thrown at him did not stick.

Exceptionally capable man Mike was the best Leader of Labour Group on Hampshire County Council (Much better than the late Wheeler the ‘Dealer’; Just like Alan Whitehead in Southampton who was exceptionally brilliant (unlike current useless Williams!!!). Pity right wingers in Portsmouth Labour Party were making Mike’s life difficult so to follow his desired political career he joined the SDP. Yes that was disappointing especially because I’d supported him in vote of confidence in the last Group meeting he attended. But still some of us could understand his reasoning.

He really cares for people and even when his political opponents have problems he is always willing to help. Having lost my Indian passport and personal papers, I was having problems with DVLA who wanted me to prove that I am not an illegal immigrant. Luckily for me along with many members of NuLabour, Mike also helped me in resolving that absolute nightmare.

By the way he also voted against his own party over student fees, sadly same can not be said about both our local NuLabour MPs, whom I also respect because they are also exceptionally good at helping people when they have problems with arrogant pen pushers of establishment.

Oh yeah? How big was the envelope? ;) Used notes was it?

Just read about him on Wikipedia... it's not to be trusted but it does show him to be a dodgy, dodgy geezer...

If that is true, then someone else has been posting comments on here, using your name.

They're not 'on strike', they're taking lesser action. Anyway, emergency care is unaffected.

good luck hope he gets better soon despite having the handicap of being a pompey fan.
he like most mps have helped people with problems.
i also think that sad case who put that sick comment about the Eastleigh mp and thinks it funny to get a life and get up early for junior school and lay off the wacky baccey.

I notice that the posters here who defend this MP do not address his predilections for Russia or his sexual shenanigans with constituents.

His health issues should provoke a by-election. Perhaps his constituents will provide an MP with a more rigorous code of ethics.

I hope that he returns to health soon, if not the government benches.
