Decision on Rose Bowl PLC’s council representation deferred
5:08pm Friday 12th October 2012 in Politics
A DECISION on which councillors will sit on the board at the home of Hampshire cricket was last night deferred to a later date.
As previously reported, members of the borough council will now sit on the company’s board to act as a “critical friend” and make sure the council’s “interests are safeguarded”.
The Daily Echo revealed last week that the company behind the home of Hampshire cricket lost more than £3m in 2011.
A total of three appointments to the board will be made from the council – an Ageas Bowl wider site representative, a hotel development representative and a community trust representative.
The representatives will be able to attend board meetings and make representations – but will not be entitled to vote.
Appointments to the board roles will be made at a full council meeting on October 18.
