dose it really matter what party they pick they not going to get pr, plus there will be another election before the end of 2012 it could be has early has autumn this year.

It is far better to have a 2 party system as in America. It creates stable government and does away with all this behind door deals, that none of us voted for. Who wants to beholden to a small party big on presentation, but little on policy.

Look what happened in Southampton, when Liberals lead by Vinson shamefully did a deal with Labour just prior to the local elections - it finished their party and damaged Labour.

I agree with you on 2012, I think once the economy is solid the Conservatives will go for broke and try to win outright (I'm assuming there will be a Lib/Con coalition which I believe there will be).

no we do not, so far we had polling stations running out of voting slips, we had polling stations closing and turning away voters, we had a 14 year old boy that voted. complains are coming in of more polling stations closing up to 15 mins early.
this why the fix figures are publish a few mths after wards, to make sure there is no complaints and if theres any they can be investigated and to look into to see if a re-election is needed, any figures done by such has on the tv or raidio or news papers are pre-fix publish numbers, theres only one group that can publish the fix numbers, and before they will do that this group will recount all those votes again. if proven correct they will just put them in a box and store them for 50 years, any that are not correct get recounted 3 times more, and has long they get the same number 3 times then that would then become the fix number. all finding have to be reported to the crown commissioner's of electoral of fair play.
i could tell you some thing but i cant i have signed the secrets act, like dcm did and i am sure he knows what i would be pointing at.
so before you post again on the subject i will suggest that you join a political party and attend the places where they count up all the votes, maybe then you will have a better insight on how things works.

There were elections in Iraq in March, the result was inconclusive but Mr Allawi (a former PM) will be given the first opportunity to form a coalition government. Which reminds me, isn't this a good time for Tony Blair to come back as leader of the Labour party? I like Miliband but I thought that apart from being a bit of a poodle to Mr Bush, Tony didn't get much wrong.
I served in Iraq by the way if that counts for anything (probably not!)

and if the commissioners turn round and say there has to be a re-election at those constituency, there go's that number. and has theres been a 14 year old boy that voted that to throws that number out that was found out the day after the election, there could be more under age voters, also the a wrong figure could of been called out. or some one write up the figure's wrong, its all happened before and is not the first nor i expect the last time.
it been quiet often that the declare numbers are different to the fix number but normally only by a very small amount and dont make a difference. but this time its a real big mess, there is going to be more than one enquiry

i personally would like to see changes made on polling times change it to 9pm friday then keep it open till 9pm sunday. it give those a chance who work funny hours to make time to vote, and also have at lest 1 police officer present at each polling station

I'll go along with your last paragraph - but as part of some major reforms to our electoral system and how parliament works. We need:
1) a fairer voting system that allocates MPs according to the proportions voting for each party
2) a 100% elected second chamber
3) fixed term parliaments - and different terms for the first and second chambers.
4) doing away with all this "right honourable .. " language nonsense.

I take your point from the other day about PR and party lists. Yes, it does give too much power to the party machines - but then the AV system is only a slight improvement on first past the post and would still severely and adversely distort parliamentary representation of many a political view - including your own. At least with PR you vote for the political party of your beliefs and, if you pass a threshold, you get representation. With AV you still get only the big 2 or 3 parties - just like now.

no we do not, so far we had polling stations running out of voting slips, we had polling stations closing and turning away voters, we had a 14 year old boy that voted. complains are coming in of more polling stations closing up to 15 mins early.
this why the fix figures are publish a few mths after wards, to make sure there is no complaints and if theres any they can be investigated and to look into to see if a re-election is needed, any figures done by such has on the tv or raidio or news papers are pre-fix publish numbers, theres only one group that can publish the fix numbers, and before they will do that this group will recount all those votes again. if proven correct they will just put them in a box and store them for 50 years, any that are not correct get recounted 3 times more, and has long they get the same number 3 times then that would then become the fix number. all finding have to be reported to the crown commissioner's of electoral of fair play.
i could tell you some thing but i cant i have signed the secrets act, like dcm did and i am sure he knows what i would be pointing at.
so before you post again on the subject i will suggest that you join a political party and attend the places where they count up all the votes, maybe then you will have a better insight on how things works.

And all those who didnt get to vote due to closing times would have been labour voters...........As they had only just got out of bed.
