SOLICITOR Beverley Golden is challenging for the New Forest East seat on behalf of the Green Party.

Miss Golden, who lives in Marchwood, has acted for clients in high profile child protection cases and has written for newspapers on a range of subjects.

The mother-of-two says she is highly skilled in analysing problems and getting everybody together, including experts, to find solutions for problems faced by ordinary people.

Issues concerning Miss Golden include state pensions for the elderly, affordable and energy-efficient housing and threats to public services.

She said: "Our present economic system turns a free market into the means for the rich to get richer at the expense of the poor. The result is damage to the environment as people fight for resources. People must be put before profit.

"Hampshire was heavily developed during the twentieth century and our beautiful environment is under extreme pressure.

"The Green Party is the only party which champions the economic reforms and social justice necessary to maintain a healthy environment."
