First time voters worried about job prospects

Mark Hoban Mark Hoban

IN the second of our hot seat interviews, three Hampshire MPs answered questions on jobs from first time voters.

Tory Mark Hoban, Lib Dem Chris Huhne and Labour's John Denham all took their place in the hot seat to face a grilling.

Tomorrow, in the third and final part, they will answer questions on the place of trust in modern politics.

John Denham mentioned the minimum wage - has that actually kept wages down in certain sectors? He mentioned tax credits - was that the system which overpaid or underpaid and seldom got it correct? adjusting the tax code would have been easier. It would also need fewer public sector staff and hence be cheaper to operate.

correct. The minimum wage as forced down wages at the bottom level and tax credits are good in principle but bad when they don't work.

First time voters worried about job prospects? Everybody is worried. Of course, better for Denham to target students, who are typically socialists, as it gives him an easier ride.

most socialist are not voting because they dont vote for any right wing party, thats why the turn out is so low now days, nearly 1/2 the country do not vote because there is no one to vote for, areas where there is a left wing candidate are standing the turn out is higher.
if any one worried about there jobs, then they best not vote for the party of high unemployment because that be one of the things that will happen if the torys get a majority in government also what will come along will higher poverty more homeless, and that big depression worse then the one in the 1920's
