Councils are left to pick up the pieces
LISTENING the other day to MPs' frustrations with regard to their constituencies, I realise Southampton is not alone and and blocks of flats are being built nationwide in towns and villages which are getting larger.
Greenfield sites are being encrouched upon to build eco towns.
Many fields are being held by investors, called banks, in readiness for sale to big developers.
Needless to say, builders do not concern themselves with infrastructure.
It seems there is no coordinator in the Government to pull the lot together.
It would also appear that construction firms bypass local councils and planning departments and appeal time and time again until they get what they want regardless of any infrastructure.
How many councils and administrators are throwing their hands up with frustration at having to put in infrastructure for these greedy entrepreneurs' plans?
But who's in charge? No one! It really is dog eat dog, and councils have to pick up the pieces.
