Petrol is cheaper on the Isle of Wight
I WONDER why the residents of the Waterside are paying so much for their petrol when the Esso refinery at Fawley is so close.
I filled my car up while visiting the Isle of Wight on May 9 at an amazing 106.9p.
The Isle of Wight is usually very expensive because of either the cost of transporting goods there or not enough sales.
I have thought for a long time now that the residents of the Waterside just do not have sufficient competition as most petrol stations are owned by the supermarkets.
Come on, suppliers, be fair. We have to suffer the refinery on our doorstep and then we become victims of rip-off Britain.
ISLE OF WIGHT PETROL PRICES ON MAY 8:
Morrisons, Newport, 106.9p.
Sainsbury's, Newport, 107.9p.
Lushington Garage 111.9p.
Fairlee Service Station 112.9p.
Northwood Garage, Cowes, 112.9p.
