She’s on her way to Southampton – but a lady needs to ensure she is looking perfect before making her grand appearance.

And in the case of the largest cruise ship in the world, that means the biggest ever bottom being left high and dry.

Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas is in dry dock in the Keppel Verolme shipyard in the Netherlands undergoing a multi-million pound refurbishment before heading for Southampton next Wednesday.

As part of her scheduled spruce-up, the massive vessel had to be lifted high and dry in the huge dry dock in Rotterdam.

The 225,282-GRT Oasis of the Seas, which can accommodate up to 6,296 passengers, will be 40 per cent larger than any other cruise ship to ever dock in the UK when she arrives on Wednesday morning.

Royal Caribbean have invited sightseers to enjoy free bacon butties and tea and coffee while stocks last in Southampton’s Mayflower Park on Wednesday morning to watch the arrival of Oasis at around 10am.
