Luxury car maker denies its vehicles are on stricken ship Hoegh Osaka
LUXURY car giant Bentley says none of its vehicles are on board the stricken Hoegh Osaka.
The British firm moved to deny reports that a number of its cars were on board the ship when it ran aground in The Solent.
The 180m ship had been transporting 1,400 cars and up to 80 industrial vehicles to Germany when it was grounded on Bramble Bank.
They included BMWs and JCB excavators, and there had been speculation that a number of luxury Bentleys were on board.
However today the firm confirmed to the Daily Echo that none of its products were on the Hoegh Osaka.
A spokesman said: “Reports that there are Bentleys on board are inaccurate.
“There are no Bentleys on board the vessel.”
