EUROPE’S largest marine and workboat show is set to welcome 550 exhibitors, 70 vessels and 7,500 people when it opens in Southampton.

To celebrate the 18th year of the Seawork show at ABP Port of Southampton, the Damen Group will be building its very own pontoon to show off its wares and a hospitality tent.

Tracking devices Meanwhile, Intelligent Devices will showcase tracking and monitoring devices for the marine industry, as well as asset tracking and remote monitoring for marine buoys and marine pipelines.

Casper Vermeulen, of Damen, said: “The vessels berthed on Seawork’s floating walkway are an excellent way for clients to get to know Damen products like Twin Axe Fast Crew Suppliers and multi-car workboats and, of course, we’ll also be standing on one of Damen’s own pontoon and barge models.”

German giants Voith will be revealing a brand new marine propulsion system which it claims can dramatically cut operating costs while producing more thrust with less noise and vibration.

And the National Workboat Association is joining forces with the International Jack-Up Barge Operators Association to produce a focus on safety in a seminar being held at the Seawork conference.

The two-day conference, held on-site, will deliver a programme of sessions covering technical discussions, industry updates and emerging hot topics.

Hybrid systems for small crafts, flood defences, collaborating with research centres and crew transfer vessels will all be included and discussed.

Nominations And currently nominations are rolling in for the Seawork innovations showcase, as well as the lifetime achievement award and maritime professional of the year award.
