A SOUTHAMPTON charity is set to move into new offices after planning permission was granted.
The Sailors’ Society has won permission to turn the former Conservative Club in St Annes Road into its new base.
The society, established more than 125 years ago, currently has offices in Shirley Road.
Plans were filed earlier this year to change the use of the former club in St Annes Road, Woolston, and now work can begin to convert it after planners gave the proposals the green light. The building has been unoccupied for about 18 months.
The charity provides support for seafarers.
