As the schools had broken up the coastguard were called to the waters around Hampshire seven times in order to tow vessels which had broken down.
A spokesman for the UK Coastguard said that many of the calls were due to people going out on the water in good weather and not being prepared or equipped for sailing.
Steve Mann, UK Coastguard senior maritime operations officer said: “If you’re going out to sea, make sure you’re properly prepared and that you have some way of being located if you get into difficulty.”
