THE head of a statue has been found in an Anerley pub, but can News Shopper readers put a name to the face carved in the stone?
Last week, Neville De Souza was sorting through some boxes cleared from the basement of the Thicket Tavern.
Among the assorted debris the director of Lightbox, a property investment company that recently purchased the Anerley Road pub, made an interesting discovery.
The 37-year-old said: "We discovered this rather handsome fellow which we understand is the head of one of the many replica classical statues that were part of the Crystal Palace experience.
"But we have been unable to discover more.
"We thought perhaps your erudite readership might be able to identify him?"
