A GOOD SAMARITAN is looking to return this dress to its owner after finding it on her train journey home.

Lorraine Bussey was on a train back to Newcastle from Reading when she discovered a Dorothy Perkins bag with a bargain from Southampton inside.

The 31-year-old customer service worker has now said she wants to find the owner because it's such a lovely dress.

She said: “I know a lot of people would probably say why don't you just keep it for yourself or sell it but it's such a nice dress for the spring or summer time that someone will probably miss it, plus they've paid for it so it's only right.”

The patterned shift dress is an XL which was purchased in the West Quay store on Saturday, April 11 just before 2pm and had been reduced from £20 down to £15.

“Someone has lost their bargain, it's horrible if you've paid for something to lose it so I would really like to find the owner and return it, I hope it would make them happy to have it back.”

Lorraine was sat in coach c of the Cross Country train from Reading to Newcastle when she found the dress which was in a carrier bag with a receipt.

The receipt has the last four digits of the person's card number on it which she would like to use to send it back to its rightful owner.

“It's a bit like Cinderella but instead of a glass slipper it's a pretty summer dress, I'm hoping if word gets round enough that someone will come forward.”
