IT was a bad day for one Saints star - after he caused a traffic jam at the Itchen Bridge.

Despite earning tens of thousands of pounds a week playing up front for Saints, Sadio Mane didn't have 50p for the toll at the Itchen Bridge.

Caught behind a gate and with a line of traffic backing up behind him, there was nowhere for the 23-year old forward to go.

It was only after generous motorist stepped forward to give him the 50p needed to get through that the Senegalese international was able to move on.

It happened hours after he failed to find the back of the net on Saturday when Saints let slip a two-goal lead against Leicester City.

Mane missed a couple of chances on Saturday to score a third goal for Saints which would have put them 3-0.

Daily Echo:

After managing to get past Leicester keeper Kasper Schmeichel, he was unable to score a goal in the opening minutes of the second half.

In the final few minutes of the game he shot a ball far over the cross bar from more than 35 yards away sending it into the crowd.

In May, Mane scored the fastest hat-trick in Premier League history when he scored three goals in 176 seconds in a 6-1 victory over Aston Villa.
