We're proud of our charities forum: BCTC president Nigel Hedges

The Bournemouth Chamber is most proud of its innovative Charities Forum. The pressures on society mean our LOCAL charities are more hard pressed than ever before and promoting the adage‘charity begins at home’ , those successful in business locally have stepped up with a desire through the BCTC to assist their local charities , some of which have at present such a low profile.

The BCTC Charities Forum group have created a Google calendar to enable local charities to avoid date clashes which are more common than you would imagine.Liaising and , indeed , working together affords the smaller charities to gain an economy of scale for events and a shared knowledge with guidance and advice from the larger charities and the good and kind people in that sector in the local community sees us all more confident for a more compassionately effective 2013.

Bournemouth Chamber Patrons , member companies and social organisations have all rallied to the BCTC CF banner and charities are actually saving hard won charitably donated funds with the vital and free advice that is honing the efficiency of our ‘community giving’ in the BH business postcode district.

With member hotels offering free venues for our meetings and many adopting a very energetic and enthusiastic approach with the charities we have introduced them to , we are now beginning to see those who lives have been troubled being afforded new employment opportunities in an industry that’s vital to our local economy.

As those Christmas tunes run through our heads and the weather outside being “frightful” , the Bournemouth Chamber urges you to think of how you can help local charities in 2013.

And make sure you have a peaceful Christmas with an eye to a truly prosperous New Year.
