AN investigation is underway today after a teenager was hit by a car on a busy Hampshire road.

The girl was taken to hospital with head injuries after colliding with a Vauxhall Corsa on Chestnut Avenue, close to Bournemouth Road in Chandler’s Ford.

Police closed the road for nearly an hour while medics worked at the scene.

Witnesses should contact the roads policing unit on 101.
