A LORRY carrying 8,000 litres of liquid sewage overturned in a Hampshire village.

Fire crews battled to stop diesel from the stricken vehicle leaking onto Leckford Lane, Stockbridge.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Andover, Stockbridge and Eastleigh used containers to stop more than 100 litres of fuel getting into drains.

No sewage escaped from the vehicle.

The driver was taken to hospital by ambulance after the accident, which happened shortly before noon yesterday.
