Traffic on the M27 this evening
MOTORISTS are facing rush hour delays on a busy Hampshire motorway after a fire in the trailer of an articulated lorry.
The M27 is partially blocked with smoke blowing across the lanes near junction eight at Park Gate.
Fire crews from St Mary's and Fareham were called to reports of a small blaze in the empty trailer compartment of a lorry on the westbound hard shoulder.
They are currently using a jet to extinguish the flames.
Long queues of traffic have been reported with one lane closed. It is not yet clear when the motorway will be fully reopened.

A minor inconvenience, unlike the farce at J9 and Segensworth roundabouts, where the traffic lights seem to be set to cause the maximum chaos possible...
I wonder if that's related to the Yew Tree Drive gate opening trials...
