A MAN was taken to hospital with minor injuries after his vehicle struck a lamppost on a busy road in Totton.

The A35 Main Road was partially blocked by the collision between the green Vauxhall Astra, containing a driver and three passengers, and the lamp- post at 2.11pm yesterday.

The council have been informed to replace the lamppost which has been bent to a 45 degree angle over the pavement.

These lamp posts are dangerous creatures... they jump out in front of you, and in most cases smelling of wee, at the most awkward moments.
