FIRE crews had to cut a man from his car last night after it became suspended amongst trees on the bank of a busy motorway.
At approximately 9.30pm last night, Winchester Fire Station, South Central Ambulance Service and Hampshire Police attended the scene between junction eight and nine southbound of the M3 motorway near Micheldever.
A 35-year-old male from Christchurch was trapped and had to be cut from the grey Audi A4 which is believed to have left the motorway and traveled up the bank.
Winchester Fire Station watch manager Chris Roper said: “We had to stabilise the vehicle first, because it was suspended in some trees, and then remove the roof.”
He was taken to North Hampshire Hospital with a head injury, which is not thought to be life threatening, and later transferred to Southampton General Hospital.
Police investigations are under way.
