A DRIVER was seriously hurt in a crash on a major Hampshire motorway interchange.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the two vehicle collision on the A272 at Winnall, Winchester, at about 5.40pm yesterday.
The crash happened just before the Winnall roundabout at Junction 9 of the M3, when a white Honda Civic and a blue Ford Focus collided.
At least one person had to be cut free by firefighters from the nearby Winchester Fire Station on Easton Lane.
The driver of the Honda, a man in his 20s, suffered serious head injuries and was taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital. His condition this morning was unavailable.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call police on 101, quoting Operation Halsham.
