FLYBE is to scrap weekday flights between Southampton and Guernsey next month.
A drop in demand has been blamed for the cuts.
From Thursday October 2 until Saturday October 25, Flybe will be operating a twice daily service to Guernsey on Saturdays and Sundays, with the weekday service temporarily suspended.
Passengers booked on flights no longer operating will be contacted by Flybe's call centre and offered the option of being re-accommodated on an alternate flight or given a full refund.
The weekday service will be restored once a day from October 26, with one service on Saturdays and two on Sundays. Details will shortly be available at flybe.com.
In a statement the company said: βIn recent months we have been experiencing unacceptable economic returns on this route due to the significant number of increased services: total supply is no longer aligned with total demand. Flybe wishes to sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.β
The airline's Exeter and Birmingham and intra-island routes will continue to operate as normal.
