MOTORISTS on a busy junction in Southampton have faced disruption after a traffic lights fault.

A fault, believed to have affected the supply of electricity, caused the lights at Bitterne Park Triangle, near to Cobden Bridge, to stop working yesterday afternoon and the fault has continued this morning.

The city council's highways team said yesterday that engineers had “been informed”, but they were still not working this morning.

It comes just a day after the sequencing of traffic lights at the newly-reopened Central Bridge were blamed for delays which saw motorists queuing in the area for up to an hour-and-a-half.
