MOTORISTS can expect severe delays on a Hampshire main road after a rush hour smash.

A lorry and car crashed at the A30 junction with Romsey Road at Nether Wallop shortly before 5pm.

A pensioner was thought to have been trapped and firefighters have been called to the scene along with police, South Central Ambulance Service and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

One person was taken to the Hampshire County Council Hospital in Winchester but it is not known the extent of their injuries.

Paramedics assessed three other people at the scene but they were uninjured.
