AN OVERTURNED lorry is causing traffic chaos on a major road this afternoon.

It is believed the lorry fell on its side after trying to turn at a junction and has collided with a car on the A326 Marchwood-By-Pass.

The road is currently closed both ways at Jacob’s Gutter Lane between the Totton and Marchwood traffic lights with traffic tailing back to the A35 Totton-by-pass.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Police confirmed that no one was seriously hurt and said they were called to the scene just after 2.20pm.

One driver told the Daily Echo: “It looks like it’s just got a lot of rubbish inside and it’s knocked over a  street lamp as well.”
