EMERGENCY services have been called to a collision between two lorries on a Hampshire motorway.

The crash, involving two heavy goods vehicles, happened on the M3 northbound between junctions 10 and 11 at about 1.30pm.

Tailbacks have been reported as far back as Eastleigh on the M3 northbound, with traffic even affecting the M27 westbound and eastbound at junction 4.

There is also traffic on the soutbound carriageway of the M3 near junctions 10 and 11.

South Central Ambulance Service has sent a hazardous area response team, a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance officer and an ambulance crew, and lorry driver in his 60s has been taken to Southampton General Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Significant traffic is being reported in the area after two lanes of the carriageway were closed and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
