A MAN has suffered "very serious injuries" in a crash that closed an important Hampshire road for much of the afternoon.
A car hit the man, who is believed to be in his 40s, on the A337 at Passford Hill near Lymington at about 12.30pm.
The man was rushed to Southampton General Hospital with what police described as "very serious injuries".
The A337 was closed for several hours while officers dealt with the collision, but it has now reopened.
No-one has been arrested in connection with the incident.
