A MAJOR city road was been closed after a diesel spillage following a three-vehicle crash.
The Avenue was shut to traffic between Highfield Lane and Winn Road in both directions while emergency services work to clear the road.
The incident involved a Unilink bus, a Southampton taxi and a Volvo.
The crash happened at about 5.25pm last night and there are no reports of any injuries but motorists are advised to avoid the area.
Anyone with information on the incident can contact Hampshire Constabulary on 101.
