DRIVERS from Southampton and Eastleigh are being warned about a possible con-man operating on the city’s motorways.
Members of the general public have been sharing their stories on social media of a grey Vauxhall that has been stopping on slip roads.
On Facebook, one man shared his story and said that he had pulled over to help out the stranded motorist after he flagged down his van.
Upon speaking to the driver, the man said he was given fake rings in exchange for cash to buy petrol.
However, upon refusal of this offer and a suggestion that the motorist was a con-man, the supposedly-stranded driver sped off. The man posted: “Luckily, they seemed to have just enough fuel to disappear when they were rumbled.”
