POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision on a Hampshire road this morning.
The incident occured on the A343 near Abbotts Ann at around 5.30am when a grey Renault Laguna collided with a heavy goods vehicle.
The driver of the Renault, a man aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the HGV was unhurt.
The A343 remains closed in both directions at the junction with Old Stockbridge Road to St Johns Cross.
Police continue to investigate the exact circumstances and are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward, particularly any drivers who may have seen the Renault Laguna immediately before the incident.
