THERE are delays on cross-Solent ferries this morning after a vessel got stuck in mud.
Wightlink services have been disrupted between Lymington and Yarmouth.
The ferry has been refloated, but there was a wait while the crew had to wait for the tide to come in to lift it clear of the mud.
This led to delays of as much as 90 minutes although services are now returning to normal.
A spokesman for UK Coastguard said that the low tide was causing problems across the region with sailors trying to avoid some of the shallower parts of the Solent.
They said: "Some of the ferries are having to hold off from getting into port and wait for the tide to rise."
