TRAFFIC is queuing for miles on the way into Southampton - after new traffic lights were turned on over night.
The new set of lights for the M27 junction three are causing delays eastbound and traffic is slow from junction two.
The lights are north of the M271 roundabout and queues are continuing to build during rush hour, with reports that traffic is waiting as far back as junction one of the M27 eastbound.
As of 8.30am, the traffic lights were being controlled manually from the scene.
One driver told the Daily Echo and said: "It's unbelievable. It's taken twice as long to do my normal journey today as it did when they were doing the roadworks.
"So much for it being an improvement."
