A MOTORCYCLIST was rescued by firefighters when he became trapped under a car in a freak crash on a Hampshire road in the early hours.
A rider, believed to be in his early 20s, became stuck after his bike was in collision with a Kia car in Romsey Road, Winchester, at around 12.30am, close to the Royal Hampshire County Hospital.
Crews from Winchester fire station arrived and used hydraulic lifting equipment to ease the vehicle off the injured man.
It took 15 minutes to eventually free him.
He suffered serious leg, head and arm injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital by ambulance.
The woman car driver was unharmed in the crash and the road was closed in both directions while crews worked.
