MOTORISTS are facing fresh delays on the M27 after a vehicle fire.

Traffic is backing up on the M27 eastbound after the fire which has closed lane one of the carriageway.

Delays are building up back to junction seven for Hedge End.

It comes after an earlier accident happened just before 5pm and blocked the slip road to junction 11/A37 for Fareham.

Queues are building up with delays reaching junction nine/A27 for Segensworth.

Earlier, a spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said they are currently trying to reach the scene and it is not known whether there are three or four cars involved in the incident.

ROMANSE have posted an image by Highways England on Twitter which shows traffic has been brought to a standstill and lanes two and three of the motorway are blocked.
