Major delays after lorry and cars in motorway smash
MOTORISTS on the M3 are facing delays today due to an accident.
Queues are building up on the northbound carriageway between junction 10 for Winchester and junction 9 at the Winnal Roundabout.
A Skania HGV and a Mercedes Sprinter van were involved in the incident.
Lane three of the northbound carriageway is currently closed.
Police said they were called at 12.48pm and initially traffic was only flowing on the hard shoulder, with debris on all three motorway lanes.
Most of the debris has now been cleared.
South Central Ambulance Service confirmed a patient was treated at the scene and then taken to Southampton General Hospital.
It is not clear which vehicle they were travelling in or how badly they were injured.
