A THIRTEEN-YEAR-OLD boy was one of three people arrested following a 40-minute police chase in the early hours of the morning.

The drama unfolded after police were called to reports of an attempted burglary at Mottisfont House, in Village Road, at 1.45am on Thursday.

Officers attempted to stop a Land Rover Freelander which they believed to be involved, but it failed to stop.

Police pursued the vehicle for 40 minutes before coming to Mountbatten Road in Totton, where four people were seen leaving the vehicle.

On social media, Hants Response Cops tweeted that officers were assisted by a police helicopter during the chase.

A second message said officers forced entry into a property before making arrests.

A spokeswoman for Hampshire Constabulary said: “A 24-year-old man from Swindon, a 24-year-old man from Romsey and a 13-year-old boy from Totton have been arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary.

“They remain in custody at this time.”

Another spokesman for the force said nine units were involved in the incident, but was unable to confirm how many police cars pursued the Land Rover Freelander.
