The Daily Echo Video News Challenge
We are looking for someone to take-up a trainee journalist post with the Southern Daily Echo and pick-up a top prize of £500 in vouchers.
Much more than a newspaper, the Southern Daily Echo now has one of the fastest growing and most respected news websites. These are exciting times as the Daily Echo brand is now recognised worldwide.
Now we are looking for a trainee journalist to join our newsroom and join this media revolution.
Journalists at the Daily Echo are already trained in video journalism, and we want our new trainee to show how he or she is already ahead of the rest.
The challenge is open to anyone over the age of 18 - although there is a special Youth Challenge also.
If you think you can put together a two to three-minute news story about your community/friends/college/ or any local subject then this challenge is for you.

And what an award! Trainee journalism places are among the most coveted as careers and a trainee post in the state-of-the-art newsroom at the Southern Daily Echo is a top achievement for any would-be writer and broadcaster.
There's also a top prize of £500 in vouchers and a youth award of £300 in vouchers for the best entries.
So what's stopping you? Click HERE for details on how to take part and about the Youth Challenge.
And good luck.
