THERE was an explosion of colour in Southampton as a city church celebrated the culture of Goa.

Scores of revellers attended a carnival dance party to celebrate the heritage of the Indian state.

With music blaring from the stage as the fourpiece band Goa Waves performed traditional beats, families came to party at Holy Family Church hall in Redbridge Hill.

It was the 23rd event organised in the community by the Golden Goa Association to celebrate with people across the city.

An array of colourful treats were on offer for festival goers as they kept busy dancing to the sounds of more musicians, including DJ Anthony Povo, and enjoyed an authentic Goan buffet, prize giveaways and performances from dancers King Momo.
