MORE than a hundred motorcyclists rode out today to remember a popular biker who was tragically killed in a crash in Southampton.
Nearly 150 bikers converged at the Bittern Pub to remember Carol Carr, known as ‘Bubbles’, who died on February 18 last year in a collision in Moorhill Road, West End.
Carol Carr.
The 50-year-old was known as a dedicated fundraiser and she organised the annual Southampton Toy and Easter Egg runs for nearly 30 years.
The ride saw bikers go to the spot where she died in Moorhill Road, and then the Second Chance Animal Rescue centre in Mansbridge Road, where food donations were given, as she was renowned for carrying pet rats Mr Snuffles and Chatterbox in her rucksack.
Her death shocked the biking community and more than 600 people travelled from across the country for a ride out, on her funeral.
Following Bubbles’ death, Philip Stocks, 54, of Redlands Lane, Fareham, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
He pleaded not guilty and will go on trial in June.
