For residents of Stanford Court in Sholing, a once picturesque view of a church and its vicarage now marks one of the areas biggest eyesores. Regular break ins to St Francis of Assisi church and heavy graffiti have left the abandoned church looking down trodden and bleak. The foundation stone of the church laid by a home office representative in 1967 has also been badly vandalised. The restoration of both the church and vicarage, both situated between Stanford Court and Montague Avenue would improve the view for nearby residents.
