IT is the stunning interplay of light on silverware that so catches the eye in the mashed potato masterpiece that is Leftovers Left Over A Week.
In her debut work, Susan Johnson of Primrose Road, Bassett, Southampton has excelled herself with a "modern art" installation created from leftovers found lurking beneath her 13-year-old son's bed.
The creation is just one of the artistic offerings to have flooded in to the Daily Echo since we challenged you to create a piece of art to rival the £250,000 painting planned for Southampton City Art Gallery.
Controversy still rages over the city council's plans to acquire Red Movement, this squiggly-lined painting by 1960s artist Bridget Riley. But can you do any better?
The standard has now been set. If you think you can come up with modern art to rival Bridget Riley, send in your efforts to: Newsdesk, Southern Daily Echo, Newspaper House, Test Lane, Redbridge, Southampton, SO16 9JX or e-mail your creations to newsdesk@soton-echo.co.uk.
