Sparsholt student gets Saints chance
9:23am Friday 26th October 2012 in Sport
Sparsholt College Football Academy player Isaac Nehemie has been offered the opportunity of a week’s training with Saints.
The 16-year-old was released last year by Crystal Palace, where he had played for three seasons before trialling at Sparsholt, who run a successful football academy program in conjunction with Salisbury City FC.
As a result the London based player was given a full-time placement and he now resides onsite to fulfil a football and academic program at Sparsholt.
The College’s football academy manager, Neil Benson, said: “Isaac is one of a number of players that Southampton FC and other clubs have been monitoring over the last couple of months.
“It is a real testament to the progress of the Sparsholt College Football Academy programme that a premiership club of the stature of Southampton FC have offered Isaac an opportunity of attending at the main training ground at Staplewood for a week’s trial during the coming half term.
“Isaac has been making continued progress on all aspects of his game and has achieved many of the target goals we had set out for him at the beginning of the season within his personal development programme.
“This chance will provide a further stepping stone in Isaac’s quest to become a full time professional with a major club.”

Anyway, predictions for tomorrow people? I'm going with 2-1 Saints. Lambert penalty at some stage.
