HAMPSHIRE’S Glenn Maxwell impressed on day one of Australia A’s game against the touring South Africans in Sydney earlier today.
Walking into bat at No 8 with his country struggling on 185-6, Maxwell plundered 64 off 90 balls – with eight fours – in a 143-run seventh wicket stand with Alex Doolan (76no).
Australia closed on 325-7 against a bowling attack that included ex-Hampshire spinner Imran Tahir (2-144).
