NIGEL Adkins will again have to make a call on Saints’ formation tomorrow.
Adkins started at West Brom with a 4-4-2, which allowed him to play Adam Lallana and Gaston Ramirez on the flanks and Rickie Lambert in tandem with Jay Rodriguez up front.
He could keep all those four in and change the shape against Swansea tomorrrow, but that risks exposing the wide areas.
However, with Saints in such desperate need of a win, and playing at home, he may decide it is worth the risk.
“The manager of the football club picks the team,” said Adkins. “I am the manager of the football club, I pick the team.
“My objective is to win games of football. You talk about tactics, previously you've seen the different formations we've employed.
“We have not just employed one formation.
“We’ve changed formations, we've changed tactics with a desire to win a game.
“We've done that very successfully over the previous seasons and will continue to do that."
