Saints midfielder Jack Cork is available for selection again, after recovering from a knee injury that has kept him out since the end of September.
The 23-year-old has not played a league match this season, having suffered an unfortunate run of luck when it comes to injuries.
He was ruled out for the opening weeks of the campaign after sustaining damage to his ankle in pre-season, before returning in a Capital One Cup win over Sheffield Wednesday, when he hurt his knee.
He is in contention for a place in the squad for tomorrow's visit of Swansea to St Mary's.
Right-back Frazer Richardson, who has been absent with a groin problem, is also close to making a comeback and is due to feature for the development team in Monday's game at Tottenham.
