Saints rule out more loan departures

Tadanari Lee Tadanari Lee

Nigel Adkins insists that Saints have no plans to loan any more players out this month.

The Football League’s emergency window closes next week, giving the club time to farm some of their peripheral players out if they wish.

But Adkins, who allowed Dan Seaborne to depart for Charlton on a temporary basis last week, has no intention of allowing the likes of Tadanari Lee and Steve De Ridder to leave.

“We’re not looking for any of those boys to go out,” he said.

“We’ve got a group of players now who are working hard and they all want to be in the starting XI.

“If they can’t, they want to be on the bench so they can come on and make an impact and contribute.

“The good thing is when we look at it, we know where we are in the league table. It has actually galvanised everybody and brought them closer together.”

Why would we get rid of tadanari, he's only made a handful of appearances which were mostly as an impact sub.

Surely when we bought these players it was one eye on the Premiership, as it was with Billy Sharpe. Why are we now so keen to either release or not play them.? Does it not smack of a manager who has a diminished view of the way forward and is riding on the glory of the present ie getting out of the Championship. It just gets harder Nigel!

lets not loan out any more players please. Billy Sharpe is doing far better at notts forest, than J Rod is doing for us at the moment. IMO we should never have sent BS on loan anyway, he is a proven goal scorer, and would have bagged us plenty of goals in games we have played. When you have a 7m price tag on your head, you should be scoring regularly.

Cortese has too much influence on first team matters. He had an argument with Sharp and that's why he's out on loan.

It's been said so many times yet some just can't grasp the simple fact that Nicola had the belief and vision to get Markus to buy the club. Markus trusted him enough to put him in charge and in charge he is. The buck for everything; kudos and pain stops with Nicola and he is man enough to take responsibility.

Nigel has said many times now.. they get on really well and they want the best for the club. So why oh why do so many fans get so negative and dismissive in their opinions.

The club is well run on a good business footing. For that we are immensely grateful. How things are done behind the scenes is mostly private. I respect that.

I hope we do get to march on for many many happy years whether it me to Europe or up and down the divisions if we are in the black and trying to play the ball on the ground I'll be a very very happy Southampton supporter. COYR Together as One.

I think I read that he has no intention of letting them leave! At least not Lee and De Ridder. I certainly would love to see Lee in action again.

Like a lot of fans I don't understand why thse players don't even get on the bench and why some seem to get there no matter how they play, I would like to see more of Makula and TL also Deriddler and less of Gully, I hope that before the loan window cose that NA and NC would have got a deffrnder in if allowed but what ever we must support the tram and the management o o right things for the club and keep us in th black COR's

Isn't Les Reed in charge of everything footballing at the club?
I think Cortese gets a lot of unfair stick when it's Reed who finds players, transfers etc.

The buck may well stop with NC (as with all football club chairmen) unfortunately it always the team manager who carries the can. If the worst happens tomorrow it is NA who will suffer not NC or Les Reed despite the fact that there is a strong belief expressed that these two gentlemen have a strong influence on transfer targets as well as team selection.

Well said, it's amazing how much people know about cortesse and his business methods, without actually knowing F*all, he is not a millionaire Swiss banking guru because he is bad at his job,

So all those millionaire banking gurus who are not bad at their jobs had nothing at all to do with the current economic situation. What most of them are good at - in fact very good - is lining their own pockets at at our expense.

I agree with you, we operate in a fractional reserve banking system, owned by the rothschilds, all money is debt, i was just saying cortesse was good at his job looking after billionaire's debt tokens, he is not doing a bad job with saints either, up the saints, 2-1 sat,

HE might be an ok banker but he is not that experienced yet at running a good old traditional english football club.he might get more respect in the local business community if he paid southampton's debts on time.

What a load of tosh. Sharp struggles at Forest and has scored no more that J Rod has down here. If he was PL quality, he should be banging them in every week at that level.
