Redknapp fancied to be next QPR boss

Harry Redknapp Harry Redknapp

EX-Saints boss Harry Redknapp should be installed as the new QPR manager.

That is the verdict of ex-Hoops keeper Phil Parkes after the pressure on Mark Hughes increased yesterday with a 3-1 home defeat to Saints.

That defeat left the London club rooted to the foot of the Barclays Premier League having still to record a victory.

With their next two matches away at Hughes' former club Manchester United and Sunderland, the situation looks dire.

Parkes, who played at Loftus Road between 1970 and 1979, thinks a change of leadership gives the club the best chance of survival.

"There is only one person who can make the decision and that is (chairman) Tony Fernandes," he said.

"They have some tough games coming up and if he carries on backing Mark Hughes and they keep losing it is very difficult to get yourselves out of that position.

"Harry (Redknapp) is hovering in the background and he is a guy who will come in and make a difference straightaway.

"It is horrible when you see a manager in this position but I would think he would slowly be running out of time and I am not sure how long he can carry on in the job.

"You may have to bite the bullet and say it is time for Mark Hughes to move on.

"The longer he (Fernandes) leaves it the worse it will be for a new manager coming in and unfortunately that is what they need now, a new direction."

QPR are ideal redknapp fodder lots of players to sell, more players to buy, if he wasn't so numerically challenged he could probably make a fortune

Warnock is a good manager, like me he got it wrong because QPR had an off day and were at their worst and Saints were at their best.
For Nigel's sake alone, I would rather be wrong and Saints win, than be right and Saints lose.
I am a critical friend of the Saints, with the intelligence to speak my mind when I consider things could be improved.
Like many others including MLT, I do not like the way Cortese is running the club and will say so, particularly when he allows the good name of SFC, to whom the great man, Ted Bates devoted his whole working life, to be dragged through the mud by not paying his bills resulting in SFC being brought before the courts TWICE in respect of the same bill.
What an example to the youngsters who follow the Saints.

The only thing that matters is that if he goes to QPR, he isn't coming to us.

I remember going to watch Saints when they were lavishing in 19th place in League One.

Then Nigel came and two years later, we are in the Premier League.

We should stick with Nigel, any change will be our downfall and incredibly unfair on one of the best managers in the world.

In Adkins we trust!

COYR!!!

PS .if we don't keep Nigel, get Pep Guardiola or the great Lawrie McMenemy.

Get the feeling that Harry will go there and keep them up.Get rid of the dross and have money to spend.Done it before and highly likely to do it again. No better manager around at changing teams fortunes.
